Join us for our Spring "Concert on the Prairie" featuring an evening of Chamber Music at Frankford.

Monday, April 29th, doors open at 6:30pm, and the concert is from 7-8:30pm.

Weather permitting, refreshments will be served after the performance behind the church.

Musician Bios:

Swang Lin
A native of Taipei, Taiwan, Swang Lin began the study of violin at the age of six. Later he studied with Zvi Zeitlin at the Eastman School of Music, where he earned Bachelor and Master degrees. His performances have taken him throughout the United States, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, England as well as Taiwan. Lin is currently the Associate Concertmaster of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Before joining the Fort Worth Symphony in 1991, Lin performed with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in New York. Engagements with these groups have led him to concert halls and festivals across the U. S. and Europe. He held the concertmaster position with the West Virginia Symphony and the Bear Valley Music Festival, and guest concertmaster with Taipei City Symphony, Atlantic Classical Orchestra, and East Texas Symphony.

Swang has performed at Tanglewood, Caramoor, Colorado and Killington Music Festival and Snowbird Institute, as well as the National Taiwan Symphony’s Youth Summer Music Camp in recent years. Swang’s concerto appearances include Fort Worth Symphony, West Virginia Symphony, Kaohsiung City Symphony (Taiwan), Shanghai Broadcast Symphony, Kunming Symphony (China) and Taipei City Symphony Orchestra, Lake Lewisville Symphony. His performances have been heard nationally on National Public Radio’s Performance Today, and regionally on WRR, KBYU, WVPR and have been televised on Good Morning America and on PBS. Lin performs on the "Eugenie, ex-Mackenzie" Antonio Stradivari violin (1685), generously on loan to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Association from an anonymous patron.


Molly Baer
Molly Baer joined the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 2012. Before moving to Texas, Molly was a violin fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. She graduated from the New England Conservatory in Boston as a student of Miriam Fried, and received her Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Music, where she studied with Andrés Cárdenes.
Since moving to Fort Worth, Molly has participated in frequent chamber music performances with local ensembles and festivals. She has performed with Spectrum Chamber Music Society, Hall Ensemble, the Basically Beethoven Festival, Opus Nova, and Sedici Strings, a string quartet made up of colleagues in the Fort Worth Symphony. She also teaches a private studio of violin students and has enjoyed coaching young chamber musicians for the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra.

Amy Faires
Amy Faires, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, began studying the violin at the age of six. Ms. Faires holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Violin Performance from Texas Christian University where she studied with Frank Almond.
She is a member of the Dallas Opera Orchestra, performs regularly with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and was invited to perform in the Internationales Musikfest Goslar- Harz in Germany this past summer.
Although classically trained, Amy grew up in a large extended family of musicians and was exposed to many different genres of music. As a result, some of her favorite musical experiences have included working with such artists as Diana Ross, Ray Charles, Harry Connick, Jr., and Peter Gabriel.
Amy and her husband, Swang Lin, live in Euless, Texas, and are the parents of nine-year-old twins Ian and Ivy. Amy enjoys gardening, cooking, decorating, traveling, and learning both Spanish and Mandarin.

Désirée Elsevier
A New York native, Désirée Elsevier was a full time member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York until 2021. She currently resides in Dallas, TX, playing extra with the Dallas Opera, the Austin Symphony and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She can also be heard with Voices of Change in Dallas and the Victoria Bach Festival in Victoria, Texas.

She is one of the principal violists of Classical Tahoe, a summer festival in Lake Tahoe, NV. She has also been a coach at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland since 2015, and a coach at the Chamber Music Conference and Composer’s Forum of the East formerly of Bennington, VT.
A member of the World Orchestra for Peace founded by Sir Georg Solti which performs concerts in the name of world peace and harmony across the world, from Chicago to Beijing.

As a soloist, she performed the Bartok Concerto for Viola and Orchestra in Portland, OR and in Greeley,CO. She also premiered Glen Cortese’s Viola Concerto for viola and chamber orchestra with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra.
Her first job was as Assistant Principal viola in the Orchestra di San Carlo, in Naples, Italy, where she learned to drive and negotiate (argue) in Italian. She can also be heard on numerous movie soundtracks and albums.

Elsevier holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Cornell University from what is now the Dyson School of Economics, where she also studied music composition with Karl Husa and Stephen Stucky. She went on to receive Bachelor and Master’s degrees in music from the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Lillian Fuchs and Karen Tuttle.

The very, very, very best thing she ever did was to have two children, who are now two amazing and completely launched adults!

William Clay
Originally from Colorado, William Clay has held the position of principal double bass of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra since 1995. Before arriving in North Texas, he was principal bass of la Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon (Spain) and was a charter member of the New World Symphony.
An active chamber musician, Clay is a member of the board of Spectrum Chamber Music Society where he coordinates community outreach ensembles including leading Espectro de Tango and the Funkytown All-Stars. He has also performed as a guest with a variety of organizations including Mount Vernon Music, Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth and Chamber Music International.
As a soloist he has performed with the Fort Worth Symphony, New World Symphony, Colorado Symphony and Metropolitan State University Symphony. Clay has been a regular performer with several music festivals including Music in the Mountains, Crested Butte Music Festival and Colorado Music Festival and has been a guest performer with the Oregon, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas Symphonies.
